How Harmonic and Tines help steer your organization towards safe AI adoption

July 17, 2024

With the launch of Harmonic Protect, we also introduced support for outgoing webhooks to enable security teams to quickly and easily incorporate events generated by Harmonic into their existing workflows, or to create entirely new ones.

Security teams (including our own!) are moving away from the old ways of endless streams of alerts towards the more modern approach of automated triage and action. We strongly support lightening the load on security teams, allowing them to focus on things that really matter, so we’ve partnered with Tines to publish some templated workflows to help you get started.

Coach users to use GenAI tools safely

One simple workflow allows you to coach users to improve their judgment around the safe usage of GenAI. When a user submits sensitive data to tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot, reduce the burden on your security team by providing feedback directly to that user via Slack or Microsoft Teams to educate them on the safe usage of such tools, optionally enrolling them in further training should they continue to put company data at risk.

Prioritize the assessment of newly-detected GenAI applications to facilitate AI adoption

The benefits of using GenAI tools are clear, but it’s critical to assess the applications being used in your organization to understand how they’re training their models, what their security posture is, and where they’re headquartered. As soon as a new high-risk application is detected, create a task in your ticketing system to prioritize an assessment to determine how and whether that tool should be used.

Use detections from Harmonic together with other technologies in your security ecosystem

Whether you want to correlate a Harmonic detection with other events in your SIEM, or something entirely more complex, Harmonic’s webhook functionality together with Tines’ vast repository of templates allows you to build workflows using the whole gamut of technologies in a modern security stack.

We’re continuously on the lookout for ways in which we can make life easier for security teams while allowing businesses to safely reap the productivity gains of GenAI. If your security team is looking for ways to reduce their workload in order to focus on more important tasks, request a demo or grab some time to come and see Harmonic in action at Black Hat in August.
