Overview
Alritey folks, it’s been another mammoth month of product releases here at Harmonic. This includes DeepSeek coverage, visibility into personal accounts, updated configuration options, new detections, and an upgrade for webhooks.
Watch this quick video to see this all in action, or read below for more details!
Protect Sensitive Data Going into DeepSeek
The team has seen a pretty significant uptick in the usage of DeepSeek over the past six weeks. As a result, a lot of security teams are looking for additional controls when new apps like this emerge.
At the beginning of February, we released data protection for DeepSeek. This means that Harmonic can now detect sensitive data in real time and step in to provide interventions to your employee, letting them know that what they've entered is sensitive. As with all other data protection-supported applications, the browser extension intercepts prompts containing sensitive data before they are sent.

Detect Use of Personal Accounts Across ChatGPT, Gemini, and More
Harmonic customers can already differentiate between the tiers of apps in use, such as ChatGPT Free, Teams, or Enterprise. In this release, we’re providing even greater visibility by displaying the employee authentication details in alerts.
Now, when a sensitive data alert triggers, you’ll see the email address (or user name – depending on the site) associated with the session. This helps you quickly determine whether the account in use is a sanctioned corporate account or a personal one.

Updated Configuration Options
We’re excited to introduce a new feature that gives you more control over your alerts! Previously, the default outcome in the Configuration Designer always resulted in “monitor” mode.
Now, users have the flexibility to customize what they would like their default outcome to be with the following selections:
- Monitor: Results in an alert, but no intervention
- Warn: Results in an alert and a warning intervention
- Block: Results in an alert and a block intervention
- Do Nothing: Results in no alert and no intervention
Delete Alerts Directly in the Harmonic Portal for Better Control
Users now have the option to delete individual alerts, giving you more control over your data. Whether you want to remove something sensitive or clear out old alerts, you can do it easily from the Alert Details page. Fear not - there’s a quick confirmation step to ensure you don’t delete anything by mistake.
New PII Detection Types
Last month, we also released two new detection models: Customer PII and General PII.
Our Customer PII model looks for personal information related to customers, whether it's information about a specific user or a customer business.
Our General PII model detects personal information outside of the context of an employee or a business making it a great option for organizations that want to catch PII more broadly. By default, General PII will be disabled for all customers, but you can easily enable it by heading to Global Detection Settings.
You can read the full data definitions of each model within the Global Detection Settings page.

Customize Webhook Outputs with Optional Header Requests
Our customers have been loving our webhooks recently (we’ll try to share some of these cool workflows in future blogs).
Last month, we upgraded webhook outputs to include prompt data, making it easier to add context when integrating alerts into your existing workflows.
Now, you can include optional header requests in webhook configurations, giving you greater flexibility in how alerts are processed and categorized. Whether you're sending notifications to Slack, forwarding data to a SIEM, or automating responses in a SOAR platform, this update helps ensure your alerts carry the information you need.
